The Gamer Dome - Making a Game Out of Game Design

Batman: Dark Knight at midnight

So, yeah, I’m joining every other true geek tonight and seeing a midnight screening of the Dark Knight this evening.

Here’s a little original Batman treat first seen on BoingBoing.

That got me thinking about midnight geekery, and how much of it you people out there engage in. I know of at least one roleplaying game run at a local game store that starts at midnight every week and doesn’t end until 5 or 6 a.m. How does the DM find players for this sort of game? Back when I was young I’d game all night, and of course sleep tends to be optional at Gencon and other conventions I go to during the year, but I’m getting to the point where I don’t want to stay up all night except on rare occasions.

So, do any of you play in a “midnight” game, or would you, and have you heard of such things going on in your area?

you just described my style of play during my university years. We would often start at ten or eleven in the eveneing and finish just in time to see the kids go to school the following day. I know a lot of groups that dabble in this type or style of play.
