West End Games for sale

West End GamesThis has been all over the internet for the past couple of days. Eric Gibson, who has owned the company since 2004, is attempting to sell off all the IP assets of West End Games.

According to this thread, he’s trying to sell them piecemeal, so if you’ve got some money laying around and always loved some part of West End Games’s catalog, then shoot Eric an offer

Here’s a big thread at RPG.net (the site that spawned this sale in the first place, specifically the poster called Dana Jorgensen), and here’s the thread I believe that started this latest event.

West End Games is best known as the publisher of the Star Wars d6 system, as well as for the Ghostbusters RPG. They also created TORG (The Other Roleplaying Game), as well as the classic boardgame, Junta. Yes, those pretty much all peaked during the 1980s, which is why you may not have known who they were.

This seems like a great opportunity for some of these properties to get revived. Do you have any favorite West End Games products or lines that you’d like to see get a new publisher?

I don’t know how many other people in your audience don’t know what West End Games is, but I don’t. (Don’t tell me, I’ll Google it.)

    Didn’t WEG also publish Paranoia?

I’m glad to hear that, because when I scrolled down your main page and saw the explanation of West End Games right there in the post, I thought I was a complete stupid.
